About us
David Magahy is the Principal Photographer and works with a number of other photographers and assistants to bring you varied experience in many aspects of quality digital photography.
Originally from Northern Ireland, David has been involved in the computer graphics industry since the beginning of the Desktop Publishing revolution in the mid 1980's. He was an account manager for Apple Computer's leading Corporate Reseller in Melbourne, servicing large government and corporate accounts as well as advertising agencies.
This was a very dynamic time in the graphics industry when great change was taking place from traditional art methods to the new computer graphics software and all of the early workflow problems from fledgling networking to poor quality colour matching. How things have changed in 20 years. In 1987 a 20Mb Apple external hard drive cost $4,100 whereas today a 4Gb USB "dongle" costs $12
In 1999 he took a step into photography and saw the need to move with the newest revolution: digital photography. This was a relatively easy transition for him following on from his experience with the graphics softwares such as Photoshop and QuarkXpress.
David and his team are committed to keeping up to date with the latest software innovations to bring the client the best outcome for their investment.
I was a 3 handicap golfer (when I was playing regularly) and can boast 5 holes-in-one during the 80's and a birdie at the Road Hole at St. Andrews. I haven't played much in the last 5 years but can still knock it around in the high 70's if I can keep the rusty double bogies off my card. I was an avid student of the history of golf and took great pleasure as a youth viewing the great golf photos of the time. I've been lucky enough to play some of Britain's championship links including Muirfield, Turnberry, Troon, and St Andrews.
An opportunity to combine two passions in my life (golf and photography) has been wonderful for me, and to see my images published in Golf magazines is more than I could have wished for as the youth who played 54 holes every day during school holidays and we walked them all no electric carts in those days.
