Thanks for taking the time to add this information. Not having the polariser with me was laziness, the diffuser might have required a fireman’s ladder or a very long reach. I took the shot at the 200mm end of my 70-200.

Hi, if you use a polarising filter it will take some of the “shine” off the leaves and saturate the colours. This is the best use for a polarising filter rather than making a sky more blue. Also if you use some sort of diffuser or shade on the subject you will get improved results.
