Is this the new vocabulary from the R & A?
A Covid = Leaving your approach putt 1.5 metres from the hole
A Quarantine, (or QT for short) = 14 points on the back nine after 20 or more on the first
Flatten the curve = the great Mo Norman described this as taking Bacon Strips instead of Pork Chops (Divot size)
Hot Zone = when you are on fire and it becomes infectious for your playing group
Mandatory = the new general penalty of 2 strokes or loss of hole in matchplay
Herd immunity = when all of the playing group clear the water and land on the green
Key worker = someone not on the golf course today
Fake News = the hole in one I was denied when the pool noodle flicked my ball out of the hole last week
Amid = most overused word in 2020 headlines to describe when you have lost you ball in the long grass, woods, heather or whatever.
The threat is real = the 210 metre carry to clear the lake and make the 18th green.
Fluid situation = ball just out of reach of your new 14 foot retriever
Unprecendented = three birdies in a row
There’s quite a bit of math behind what’s happening = check you totals before submitting your scorecard
New normal = I’ll get a shot back soon
Psuedo-science = golf instruction before Trackman
Stop the spread = dispersion control highlighted by the Trackman numbers
